Job Description:
Implement art direction by leveraging artistic and technical abilities to produce concept art, 2D/3D prototypes, and benchmark assets. Build games for mobile production, defining modern art workflows while considering platform constraints and performance limitations. Showcase strong visual creativity with a portfolio that demonstrates tasteful aesthetics and practical design instincts. Have a comprehensive understanding of developing, implementing, and maintaining 3D pipelines for highly optimized environment art assets across multiple game platforms. Manage other artists both within team and in outsourcing partners by providing art direction and maintaining quality and efficiency of the team’s work. Create 2D/3D content, animations, visual effects, and user interfaces using tools such as Unity 3D, Autodesk Maya, and Adobe Photoshop. Utilize custom 3D art pipelines to optimize the creation and integration of assets into game. Proficiently use Unity 3D, Autodesk Maya, Adobe Photoshop, and Perforce for art production and asset management. Collaborate effectively with team members remotely, demonstrating excellent communication skills. Possess a high level of organization and attention to detail, capable of working autonomously.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Game Design, Animation, or a closely related Computer Design field plus at least 4 years of experience in a Contract Artist, Technical Artist, Character Artist, or related role. All applicants must have 4 years of experience in: (1) having released at least two AAA games on mobile platforms featuring 3D pipelines; (2) developing, implementing, and maintaining 3D pipelines for highly optimized environment art assets that work across multiple target game platforms; (3) producing benchmark art for physically based rendering (PBR); (4) producing concept art including 2D/3D prototypes; (5) in Unity Game Engine; (6) in Universal Rendering Pipeline (URP); and (7) in Autodesk Maya, Adobe Photoshop, and Perforce. Applicant must be willing to work Pacific Time (West Coast) business hours. One trip every two years for onsite partner reviews. Telecommuting Permitted.
Compensation for this role between $136,448 – $156,448/Year
